Good food = good mood!

Good food = good mood!

For some, cooking is a joy. For others, it’s a total chore. Regardless of your stance on it, cooking for toddlers can often prove challenging. Parents want meals that are easy and quick as well as tasty and enjoyable for their young ones. It’s not always easy to find the balance, but the following dishes are a good starting point!

Some simple and delicious meal ideas include:

  • Vegetable pikelets
  • Fish bites
  • Potato bake
  • Broccoli tots
  • Snack plate
  • Homemade burgers
  • Pasta

Some of the best meals for kids are ones that look interesting and are fun to make. If you’re able to get them involved in the cooking process, they are much more likely to eat and enjoy the meal they’ve helped create at the end. Offering your child choices and not forcing them to eat things they don’t want to helps keep the whole ordeal a positive one. Mealtimes are social occasions, so it’s an excellent opportunity to bond and have fun together. Let them bring their toys or dolls to the table too!

Some tips for mealtimes:

  • If you’re offering a new type of food, do so when they’re hungry and offer it to them on a separate plate.
  • Keep in mind that children don’t eat the same way adults do, so never make a big deal about mess or the way they are eating. Encouraging kids to try new foods in any method will help expand their diet in the long run.
  • Make mealtimes fun to help foster a positive relationship with food. We love Crocodile Creek’s range of brightly coloured designs featuring bunnies and flowers, zoo animals, trucks, and more. The more you can personalise the experience, the more enjoyable it will be for your child.
