Baby Bathtime

Baby Bathtime

The idea of bathing your little one in a big bathtub can be nerve-wracking for any new parent. At around 6 months, your baby may start to outgrow their baby bathtub. However, there is no need to rush the move to a full-sized tub, and there are many ways to ease the process so that bath time quickly becomes your baby’s favourite ritual.

Some babies find it quite daunting to be plopped into a bath out of nowhere, so consider making the change gradually. You can do this by placing your baby in the empty bath so they can begin to get a feel for it. Once your baby has started to familiarise themselves with the new environment, try putting them on a towel in the bath with just a few inches of water and washing them as you usually would. As your little one gains more control of their upper body and the ability to sit up, they may be ready to move to a proper bath with deeper water, bubbles, and toys.

Pop into Hatch to have a look at the bath products and toys they have available. We particularly love the Boon Toys, designed to make bathtime fun for busy little minds! If you don’t have a bathtub, you can also buy affordable baby bathtubs from many stores with prices starting at around $15.
